Cammy Pedroja, Ph.D.
is an author and an independent journalist/regular contributor to news outlets, including Newsweek and Business Insider, and her work has appeared widely across publications like The Guardian, Slate, Refinery29, Huffington Post, USA Today, and Healthline.
With an MFA in writing from Columbia University and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, Cammy earned her Ph.D. in English Literature and Rhetoric from SUNY Binghamton. On the more literary side of her writing, Cammy is also a recent winner of the James Wright Poetry Award and the Cider Press Review Book Award for her recent book, Notes on Vanishing.
Cammy’s background in research and publishing includes several years of teaching persuasive writing and research methods at Syracuse University, experience as an assistant admin in the Columbia University Journalism School’s publishing program, and freelance editorial work for such publications as The New Yorker and Narrative Magazine. She has also co-authored a collection of elementary school textbooks.
